Shanghai

Adam & I left Shanghai last week, and while it was neat to experience… we were honestly happy to head to Bali!  I’ve seen my share of smelly cities, and it let me tell you – it was up there. What I did enjoy was visiting a few temples, trying out some street food, and visiting a water village outside the city – it was super touristy, but looked the way ancient china does in the movies.  icon smile child family photographer vancouver

I improved my skills with chopsticks, while Adam plodded away eating with the serving spoon – there were no forks to be found!  He wasnt’t too happy about that.blank child family photographer vancouver

Now we are in Bali, and it smells of incense & flowers in the streets, and we’re never too far from a beach.  We are so happy to be here.

I hope you’re all having a good day!

to asia.

It’s just after midnight and everything is packed.  Showered, toes painted (I always paint my toes before I go on a trip; not sure why) backpacks zipped and carry on’s filled with books and earphones & chewing gum for our thirteen hour flight to Shanghai.  In twelve hours Adam and I will be in the air – off to three weeks of adventure.

I won’t be on the internet too much while we’re away, and emails won’t be checked until we’re back home, but I’ve promised to email my mom every few days – so chances are the blog will get little updates too.icon smile child family photographer vancouver (If I have any luck uploading pictures over there I’ll try to post one every now and again as well.)

In the meantime… I hope you all enjoy our lovely, chilly Canada while I head off to the beaches of Bali.  icon wink child family photographer vancouver

Summer & Eric | Croatian Cultural Centre Wedding

Summer and Eric were so excited — no, they were EXCITED!!!! to be getting married.  Every couple of days last week, Summer’s facebook status would pop up in my feed: “4 more sleeps!”, then “2 more sleeps!!” – it was getting me pretty darn excited too.icon biggrin child family photographer vancouverWhen I arrived at Summer’s house in the morning, her gorgeous dress was just going on – hair and make-up were perfect, and the house was a mix of big smiles and nervous jitters.  A beautiful bouquet from Eric was on the counter, and the limo would be arriving shortly.1 Nicholl Rebecca Sehn wedding photographer vancouver cathedral croatian1 child family photographer vancouverMy super duper awesome second shooter Elaine was hanging out with the boys, documenting the tying of ties and the putting on of shiny shoes.2 Nicholl Rebecca Sehn wedding photographer vancouver cathedral croatian1 child family photographer vancouverTheir gorgeous ceremony was at Holy Rosary Cathedral – here they are exchanging rings, lighting the unity candle, and holding hands as a new family with Eric’s daughter Callie.

Melissa & Tom | Vancouver Temple Wedding

Melissa & Tom’s wedding was my second at the Vancouver Temple, and I just loved it.  The temple grounds are beautiful, Melissa & Tom’s family and friends were all so nice, and everyone was so happy to be there.

Melissa & Tom met as teenagers living in England, and have grown into two lovely (Canadian!) adults who are absolutely smitten with eachother.   They were so happy and excited to finally be married – I don’t think Tom stopped pronouncing how beautiful his bride was the whole time I was with them.  icon smile child family photographer vancouver

I was only photographing for a few hours, so the majority of what I captured were portraits – my favourite part:01 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver02b vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver03 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver04 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver05 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver06 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver07 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver08 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouverMelissa’s bridesmaids flew in from all over the world for the wedding.  Now that’s friendship!09 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver10 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver12 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver110 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver13 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver14 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver02 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver15 vancouver temple lds wedding carlton rebecca sehn child family photographer vancouver
